Of course, that was part of the point. I am increasingly of the opinion that we don't actually listen to the concerns of the "other side" but instead assume that we know exactly where they are coming from.
Now, I will admit that I have not read Pastor McLaren's books. However, I am familiar with another pastor who is often unfairly criticized and caricatured by the mainstream of Christianity. Since I have read Pastor Doug Wilson's books, however, I know that most of the criticism is off-base. Makes me wonder if this is a similar situation...
